In the past two years entry into Norway has been restricted or not possible at all. This meant that many of our guests could not fish on the Gaula. As of January 26, 2022, Norway changed the entry restrictions and now anyone, whether fully vaccinated, recovered or unvaccinated, can enter Norway without quarantine. You only need a negative PCR or antigen test for entry if you are not fully vaccinated. Everyone who wants to enter Norway still has to register online before entering the country and your vacation can begin! This new regulation gives us great hope, that we will finally have a “normal” season on the Gaula.

It is still too early to say what the conditions will be like at the start of the season. But what we can say is that there is a lot of snow both in the upper reaches and in the valley itself. This speaks for relatively high water at the moment at the beginning of the season, but an early spring with high temperatures, as we experienced for example in 2018, can also lead to normal water levels at the beginning of the season. It will take at least 8-10 more weeks before we can say more about this. The singes are definitely look positive!

If you haven’t been sure yet whether you want or can fish the Gaula this year, then now is the right moment to secure one of the remaining free rods. Prime time is almost fully booked, but there are still a few rods available both at the start of the season and later in July/August. If you are interested in fishing on the Gaula, please contact us now and we will put together an attractive offer for you.
