Overall, fishing hasn’t been easy over the past few days, but still some nice fish have been landed on the NFC Beats on the Gaula. Due to the still very large amount of snow higher up in the mountains, we experience a rise in the water level every day in the early evening. How far the river rises depends on how high the daytime temperatures were and whether it had rained. Despite the strongly fluctuating water level, fishing on the NFC Beats on the lower Gaula was very good.
Peter Berik landed a beautiful fish of 110 cm and approx. 14 kg on Beat E2. After a quick photo, he carefully released the fish.

Damien Torsney landed the next fish on Beat E2. A good fish had taken his fly in the middle part of the beat and after an exciting fight he was able to land a salmon of 105cm and approx. 12kg. Damien also carefully released his fish after a quick photo.

The new week started as successfully as the last one ended. As early as Monday morning, three more fish between 79 and 95 cm were registered in the catch book. We will present these fish to you in our next update.
In general we can say that there are now significantly more fish in the pools and the fishing is getting better every day at the moment. The water temperature is now around 9-10 degrees during the day, which makes fly fishing much more successful. We are curious how the fishing will develop in the coming days.
There are still a few rods available over the next few weeks leading up to the end of the season on August 31st. So if you want to fish the Gaula this year, then you should contact us now to secure your rod.

The courses will be launched in weeks 32 (7th – 14th August) and 33 (14th – 21st August 2022). The price per week for fishing and accommodation is NOK 14,500/ approx. € 1,420.
