Due to the low maximum daily temperatures, the water level dropped so much earlier than expected that the salmon were able to pass through the Gaulfossen in mid-June. David Roberts landed the first fish above the Fossen on Beat A1. His salmon was 91cm long and David gently released the fish after a quick photo.

The two brothers Joel and Pavo Niemi had a really good session on Beat E2. Both were able to land a salmon of 78 cm and 92 cm in a short time. A really good start into the new week.

Eric Ottens had a good session on Beat B2. First he lost a good fish, then he landed a silvery salmon of 94 cm and 7 kg. His friend Dieter Brede was successful a short time later on Beat B1 and landed a salmon measuring 96 cm and 9.5 kg.

During the night it was Heiner Büschen who landed his first fish of the week. His salmon from Beat E2 was 98 cm long and weighed around 10 kg.

The next day it was Andreas Grass who hooked a rbig fish on Beat A1. After an exciting fight Andreas landed a salmon of 113 cm and 15 kg. The successful fly was a Willy Gun.

Koichi Suzuki from Japan also landed a salmon on beat A1. His fish was 105 cm long and weighed about 11.5 kg.

Daniel Stephan landed his first salmon of the season on Beat B1. His fish was 93 cm long and weighed about 7.5 kg. Thies Reimers was also able to land another salmon on Beat M. His fish was 94 cm long and weighed about 8 kg.

Alvaro also took his chance and landed his first salmon above Gaulfossen on beat A1. His salmon was 100 cm long and weighed 10 kg.

Gerald Schimetta got his week off to a good start, landing a 94cm salmon on Beat BS1.

Henning Sandager landed his first fish of the week on Beat L1. His salmon was 92 cm long and weighed about 7 kg.

Thies Reimers landed a salmon of 96cm on Beat B1 and Andreas Grass landed his second salmon of the week of 90cm on Beat BS2.

Carsten Mehl fished the Gaula for the first time and was able to land his first Gaula salmon on Beat M on the very first day. His fish was 85 cm long and weighed about 6 kg.

Andreas Grass landed another 98 cm salmon on beat A1 and Thies Reimers also landed a 96cm salmon on the same beat.

Bruce Lindley landed a tagged salmon of 109cm on Beat M. We’re excited to see what the data reveals about this fish. The tagg looked relatively old and it could be that this fish came up the Gaula to spawn for the second time.
