Jardines de la Reina in Cuba is one of the best saltwater destinations in the Caribbean. The area is larger than the Florida Keys and may only be fished by a few rods per week. As it is a nature reserve, commercial fishing is completely prohibited here. This combination results in a fishery that is second to none. The low fishing pressure also ensures that the fish are not so shy here and may forgive one or the other mistake in presentation.

A large Permit – most fly fishers dream of catching one at least once in a lifetime.

Many destinations in Cuba have a focus on one certain fish species. For example, Cayo Cruz is known for its permit,  Isla de la Juventud for it’s tarpon and for Cayo Largo and Jardines de la Reina there is no such “focus”. All species of fish, that are of interest to fly fishers, are found here in large quantities. Whether you want to catch a tarpon, bonefish or permit, the chances are extremely good here. In addition, there are only a few destinations in the Caribbean where the chance of catching all three species of fish in one day (Grand Slam) is as great as here. In addition to the types of fish mentioned above, you also have the option of fishing for jacks, snappers, barracuda and many other species.

Whether private bathroom, air conditioning in the room, a dining area or a large sun deck. Some yachts are even equipped with a hot tub. As you can see, comfort is a top priority here.
